What is Draft Night?
Draft Night begins with an informational meeting for parents in the auditorium. We start with just incoming freshman and parents, the Class of 2028, at 6:00pm. This is a opportunity to meet the coaches, hear about how they work to integrate the freshmen into the Cougar program and help them succeed as they begin high school.
Classes of 2025, 2026 and 2027 and their parents will join at 6:30 pm to receive information needed for summer workouts, camps and the upcoming season. Then the fun really starts!
This is an NFL style draft that is used to place our payers on six evenly divided teams that will compete against each other during our summer program. The first six rounds (36 players) will be drafted by designated team coaches. These student athletes will have walk-up songs and highlight films. The following four rounds (24 players) will be picked y the four players taken in rounds 1-6. At the conclusion of round 10, all remaining players will be picked up in "free-agency." This is a fun event and gets everyone excited for summer workouts and for our season.
Booster club members will be available about an hour before to assist those who need to pay their football fees. You can fill out the form ahead of time or complete online and pay at the event. Please make checks out to SMNW Football. If your fees are paid that night your student-athlete will receive their camp shirt early.
